Group Wod


Phill is teaching a women's only CPL class (Control Principals for Law Enforcement). It's a self defense class that will teach women how to not only get away from a perpetrator but how to fight them too. It's a 6 week class on Thursday nights from 7-9pm at Orem City Center. It's only $20.00. It started last Thursday but Phill said we just need to get a manual from him and we would be fine to start next Thursday. Post if you are interested. Phil will be there Saturday am and can give us all more details. This would be a great class ladies!!!!

Just what the guys at the gym need. Women who are stronger than us learning how to open up a can of whoop ass! How will the house ever get cleaned if Mandy is no longer scared of me?

Well, I guess I'll be the lucky first to post about today's WOD. All ya'll who didn't show up sure missed out! We did girls against boys... you'll see why... me and Brooke, Erick and Phill. We did what Jason and Nat call:
Glazed Fran
30 thrusters together at the same time(PVC pipe thank goodness!)
30 pullups alternating(assisted by your partner)
Losing team EAT A KRISPY KREME DONUT! (which happened to be Erick and Phill:)
20 thrusters
20 pullups
Losing team EAT A DONUT (HA, Erick and Phill again!)
10 thrusters
10 pullups
Losing team EAT A DONUT (finally me and Brooke)
Mine and Brooke's time was something like 10:51, and Erick and Phill were like 10:48 or something. While the losing team after each round had to eat their donut the NOT losing team got to rest - clock still running - as soon as the losing team was done eating their donuts on their call we started the next round.
I don't think we've all ever laughed SO hard in a long time - especially Jason and Nat. The first round we were kinda wary of pushing our partners over the bar on pullups (where to touch etc), but by the second round we didn't care... anything to NOT eat a donut! We got some funny pictures... Brooke's face practically in my butt tryin to get me over the bar :) Oh boy! It was A LOT harder than it sounds. Helping your partner get over the bar was almost harder than the pullups themself. After each round (while Erick and Phill were eating their donuts, hehe) we would just lie on the ground cause our arms were DEAD. My forearms were almost spasming! Don't get me wrong, Phill and Erick were only behind us by like a 1/2 second each time! I have never seen any of us so motivated to do a round just so we didn't have to eat a donut. Wow, what a day! We had a lot of fun! Just wait til you see some of the pics! You'll all have a good laugh! :) Thanks Jason and Nat for ruining my love for donuts, LOL, now I will never look at them the same! :) See some of you Monday AM!

OH MY GOSH! Today was so much fun and Jason and I laughed soooo hard. We were hoping we would have a lot more of you there so we would have 3-4 groups, but it was still so much fun. The girls did great and won by a 1/2 second on Round 1, then won by a couple seconds on round 2. By round three Erick and Phill were so determined not to eat a third donut there was no stopping them and they were just machines! The facial expressions everyone were making was so funny....I'll post pictures soon. Thanks you guys for making mine and Jason's day...we had a blast. I got a good ab workout today from laughing so hard. :)
For everyone who missed out...we will do another wod like this again soon. Saturday's are always full of surprises!

It sounds like we missed out on some fun! Will and I did the back squat WOD at home. I warmed up with 45#. Then it was 75#, 95#, 100#, 105#, 110#. Not sure if it is a PR or not. I will check Monday at the gym. See everyone Monday!!

I found the last time we did back squats. It was not a pr for me today! I did 110# last time! But on the notes I put down I had to go back down to 100# because of form and to get deeper squats. But I know today I did awesome on squats and form. I probably could have even gone up 5 more pounds. It felt really good today! Anyway it was bothering me to wait until Monday to see if I got a pr. lol Yup I am a nut!
