Once again I am really bummed, but this time it is because I missed the VCF Christmas Party and because I will be missing the Lumberjack 20 WOD tomorrow. I really wish I could be there but I will be doing Army training tomorrow.

Hope you all have fun!

RIP victims of FT Hood.

The Christmas party was really fun last night and we are so glad so many of you could make it. We had some great food and some great white elephant gifts! :) It was so much fun to spend time with you all outside the gym. We missed those of you who couldn't make it, but we are planning on doing another get together soon. (Jason is already talking about a UFC party) :)
You are all amazing. Thank you all for making our gym such a great place!

Jason said the Lumberjack 20 wod went well this am and that you all did great. Way to go! My son wasn't feeling well this am, so I'm hoping to get to the gym this afternoon to bust it out. Thank you for your generous donations.

--My one sober thought for the month--
I come to our Crossfit box in the mornings so I can move without pain throughout my day and prove to myself that my mind truly does control my body. The workouts are never pleasant. If they were, I wouldn't continue to do them with such appreciation.

Hero WODs hold a special place in my heart. Each time I see one I'm filled with pride from those who sacrificed everything so I can persist in my own path. At the same time I fear that my own family may donate a name to this noble tradition due to their service. Knowing that the Lumberjack 20 was the newest addition to the hero WOD was truly a special experience.

Crossfit has shown me that any fitness level can compete with any other. I like the competitive feel of chasing the goal of time. I've never been one to think a scaled workout is any easier than an Rx. The intensity of the workout is directly related to the amount of effort put in by the individual. Thank you all for the benefit of friendship, exercise, and a goal to improve others along with myself.

On a final note, the WOD was every bit as hard and I thought it was going to be. I was quite anxious as the time came to do it. Thanks to everyone who came in and made it truly a great experience.

I was there this morning and was impressed by the effort that everyone put in today. This was one of Sarah's first times back and she did the whole thing. It was awesome to see everyone work so hard. It is also awesome to see the progress of everyone. Mark getting his kipping pull-ups.

We truly appreciate our members and also all the service men, especially those that lost their lives at Fort Hood, that are serving our country thank you very much.

On another note I am very upset with all of you that came last night brought all that horrible yummy food. I could not stop eating it. Then a few of you left said food at our house. I am sure your intent was to leave the temptation at our house instead of theirs. I am only a man and I cannot have an eclair looking me at the face every time I open the fridge door. Why must you do that to me. Anyway I have attempted to give away every last bite.

We will have to do it again. Thanks again everyone that came last night we had a great time. Thanks everyone that came this morning and all that donated to help the family's of the Foot Hood Tragedy.

Dave, we couldn't have said it any better then your words did about Hero wods. And I completely agree that a scaled wod is just as hard to the individual doing it as to the person doing the Rx wod. Thanks again to everyone who came in today to do the Hero wod, and for everyone that comes in everyday to work hard and sweat with friends along side of you.

I wasn't able to make it in this morning but I actually did the workout at home. I am not 100% from being sick so I had to cut out the last 3 400 meter runs. I still want to contribute to to the cause so I will bring in money on Monday if that is ok.
