Dear Fran,

I have to admit, it was not pleasant seeing you today. The last time I saw you was about six months ago and I thought we had a pretty good experience. To be quite frank, I don’t think things are going to work out between us, but first let me explain why...

Wade...you asked for it so here is your early post for Monday's wod! :) (Big cheesy grin)

We haven't done Fran for a while so it will be a good benchmark for everyone. Some of you have never had the pleasure of doing Fran, so let me just say....Get some sleep tonight and eat a good breakfast. (Well, maybe don't eat a big breakfast right before the wod, if you know what I'm saying.) Good luck everyone!

P.S. I feel this pic is so appropriate to post every time we do Fran. They are both so evil and ugly!

Greeeaaaat... Fran. Oh, there aren't enough words to describe Fran. I know James will be excited to see her.

Natalie, isn't this the same picture you used last time we did Fran? Is she the new mascot? Very appropriate. My stomach is turning already...

I had so much fear last night. I watched kipping videos for about an hour. I am so glad it is over. I did my first RX Fran in 11:26. i think i improved my Kip big time. Thanks to everyone that was cheering me on. I feel like that was a huge accomplishment for me today. I don't know if I will be able to move my arms the rest of the week but it will be worth it. Good luck to the rest of you today.

Great.. wondering when my shoulders and arms can get a rest. Seems like the last two weeks have focused there.

Well Lee the reality is that we you won't get too much of a break on anything. Like today for example thrusters full squat to an overhead press then pull ups. We are going to always combine upper and lower body in different variations. The level of intensity will also determine your soreness. Thankfully we are doing natural movements so they can be done in conscutive days. Remember if you are starting new and you are too sore, make sure you take a rest day. Good luck everyone on fran today.

Yes!!!!! It's over!
My last time was 6:45. I got it down to 5:50 today.
It took me over 10 minutes to recover from this one. Preston looked like I felt at the end of this one.
Gotta love FRAN!

My continuing wrist problems prevented me from RX, but I tried to make the best of it. In October I used 65 lbs and blue band assist on pull ups in 11:36. Today I used 70 lbs and blue band assist again, but I did it in 5:53. I got through the first 21 thrusters without stopping (or puking) which was big for me. Even when you have to scale you can always ramp up your speed. Cutting my time in half in 5 months is real progress. My wrist is slowly coming around so I don't want to push too hard and have a major set back. At 46, when things break they take a long time to heal. Ahhh, the joys of "middle age". ;0)
Great work this morning. Wade, Phil and James all killed it @ Rx. Great job. It's inspiring to have people around that do it right.

I heard everyone did great today on Fran! I'm sorry I missed you all....I really wanted to get some before and after pictures. I have a date with Fran on Wednesday. Not looking forward to it to be honest. Jason just got home from the gym looking rather spent. He PR'd tonight with a 3:50 Fran! Congrats honey! He's not acting right, don't think he has recovered yet. :)

Greetings from predeployment land!! I just wanted to say I hate you Fran with all my heart and soul!! However, I had a PR today of 7:14 beating my last time by 45 seconds. I have my team doing the vcf wods and they hate me with all thier hearts and souls. So, I guess it comes full circle.

Wow! Fran! I did this one rx'd and it was soooo hard! I really wanted to use a lower weight, but the pressure of everyone else using the prescribed weight pushed me to try it. It took me a long time, but I finished! Time last time was 5:55 using the gray band for pull-ups and 35# weight. So, I'm not disappointed with my time at all, which was 12:22. My mind kept saying the weight was too much but my body kept pushing. Thanks, Cody and everyone else for pushing me and cheering me on!

I went in today at 6 pm and saw everyone's time and I was really impressed. Everyone did really well with a lot of PRs. Congrats to everyone. I got a PR too and I am stoked. What sucks about Fran is that you know next time you do it how hard it is going to be to stay around your PR time. It is such a mental game for me. I hate you FRAN!

Oh how I hate Fran! Jeremy glad you are doing well. I am looking forward to something easy tomorrow night like belly dancing.lol I did RX weight. My pull ups were not kipping ones though. They were the ones I usually do. I can do pull ups one at a time not in a WOD, but never have I done them in a WOD. Cody told me next time to do them in a WOD. That it will make them better. So next time I am, even if it takes longer. :) Time 10:22! My last time was 9:46 so I added some time on. grrrr
