Last year one of the prizes at the end of the race was one free month of training at Viking Crossfit. Suzie won the certificate and she has been coming this past week. Welcome Suzie! We are happy you came in to try us out, we hope you're enjoying your workouts!

I hope the reason nobody is posting about how excited they are about the race tomorrow is because everyone is in bed getting a good night's sleep. :) Happy Dreams. See you ALL in the morning.

I'm excited..... ;)
I just finished up all of the pre-registered runners! I was so excited to see so many familiar Viking Crossfit names! See you all bright and early (rain or shine, I'll be there).

All I can say is that was awesome this morning. I am so proud of our group this morning. You all made our gym look really outstanding. Everyone put in a 100% effort and it showed. I am just super impressed with our clients today.

Thanks again for everyone that came out and ran, and those of you that came out to support us. We took a lot of pictures so we will be posting them soon.

I know that we took at least 5 medals and there were at least a couple of us that were top 4 in our age category. Not bad for people that don't train in running.

Congratulations to everyone!! This morning was fun. That was my first 5K and it wasn't that bad. A year ago I would have never done anything like this. Like I always say, Crossfit rocks!!!
On a bad note I thought I got rid of my bone spurs when I lost the weight but the race has made one flare up and I can't walk on it. I hope it goes away. :(

That was fun. After the mile/mile and a half point, I stopped wanting to give up. My legs weren't screaming at me, I was just in a nice pounding rhythm. I could barely breathe though. When I came around that last corner and saw the finish line, I just ran for it as hard as I could.

All in all, my first 5k, and it was easier than I though it would be. Although now my ankle is killing me, and I'm hobbling around like a penguin.

Today was a blast! We had a great turn out. Way to represent Viking Crossfit! With all of us in our VCF shirts, awesome socks, and stellar performances we really stood out. I think many of you were surprised on well you did. We the trainers knew you could all do a 5k, and today I think you all realized just what you are capable of mentally and physically. Crossfit training prepares you for anything.
Everyone was all smiles after the race and we had a great time hanging out with you all. We think of you all as our Crossfit family. :)
We missed those of you who couldn't make it today.
Cody,Jess and Jason L. we want to hear how your races went?
Once again, great job today, we are so proud of all of you.

P.S. Clark, Sabrina and Jenn, could you send me any pics that you got today? Thanks! vikingcrossfit@gmail.com

If this morning isn't a demonstration of VCF and CrossFit then I don't know what is. The last time I ran 2 or more miles was October 2009 and I could have pushed myself harder. Being my first actual 5k race, I now know I can do better next time.

Way to go, those who got medals!

Yes the race was a lot of fun!! I am so happy it did not get cold until after the run. Thanks to Those who came and cheered us on. It was fun to look up and see you there.

I am SO BUMMED that I was sick! I wish that I could have been there. Then again, I am not the proud owner of a VCF shirt yet. I guess I better get on that!!

Thanks for all of the support. The race was awesome. I knew it was going to be a mental thing for me. My goal was to run the whole thing and get under 30 minutes, and I did both. About half way through as I got my side ache, I kept hearing Jason in my head saying, "It's only pain." Somehow that got me through. Thanks again everyone.

Thanks to my CrossFit family for cheering me on at the finish! It was nice to have the support from everyone. Thank you Jason & Commander for coming back & encouraging me the last 1/2 mile. Thanks especially Commander for making me do it! I look forward to doing better next week in the PG 5K & working towards running more & walking less. Thanks, CrossFit, for helping me get into shape!
