So it looks like I broke my left clavicle this afternoon. Went to instacare and the nurse practioner took an xray and wasn't sure if it was broke or not. Gonna take it to my doctor tomorrow but judging from the xray I saw I'd have to say I'm screwed. I'm friggin pissed. The last 8 months or so of hitting wods on a regular basis right down the toilet if I have to lay off for a month or two. Can't even reach over my head without serious pain and feeling "stuff" shift around. Stupid $*#&$%$ skateboard!
I am sooo sorry Will. That just sucks! For now: rest, ice(48-72 hrs),immobilze and take 800 mg Ibuprofen q 6-8 hrs for pain and swelling. (you should be able to take it along with your pain meds; depending on what was rx). Make sure to do this initial care so the healing can begin NOW. (men don't take very good care of themselves...so Mandy you better read this ) :)
Keep us posted on what the MD says tomorrow.

Fingers crossed. Oh and let me just tell you, BODY SO SORE!!! lol and yes that was whining. I am good at that. hee hee. Sorry I have had 3 hours of sleep in 48 hours. lol
Don't tease me with the squats Nat. I'm really anxious about putting you trainers to the test and seeing what you can come up with to keep me from losing everything. I'm kind of freaking out! One of the first things I told Mandy was "Great there goes the last year of working out if I can't do anything for 2 months. Mothe#*$*@%!!!!" I'll let you know what he says but if it isn't broke I've jacked something up good in there!
I'll never catch Tessa now. Damn it!!! Guess I better hope she gets pregnant really soon and gets put on bed rest by week 2. I'm kidding Tessa, I wouldn't wish that on my favorite competitor,,,,,,,or would I? Hmmm. ;)
I understand Will. I would be freaking out too. The Dr will probably rx physical therapy. Do it. They will do ultrasound, massages, etc. and will also give you exercises and restrictions which which will give us some guidelines of what we can do with you. Don't worry, we will find things you will be able to do. The first few weeks will be the hardest and you won't be able to do much. You will be back into the swing of things soon enough. Stay positive. And be thankful you didn't crack your skull open! (I hope you were wearing a helmet).
I'm so sorry to hear about your collarbone, Will. Hope you get better soon. I can sure empathize since am just able to do squatting exercises again after a knee injury. Frustrating!

I tried lunges t'day...but my owie said not yet!! sooo, I did a spin class to warm up then 100 x of 135 lb.for time.

So xrays say it isn't broken. Going to a specialist on Wed. Don't know if I tore something or just bruised the heck out of it. Not sure if torn is better or worse than broken. Can barely tie my own shoes. Point pain right above the joint. Got a nice skateboard hanging around the house if somebody wants to see if their skills are as good as when they were 16. Pretty clear to me that mine are not! :)
Thanks for the info Tills. Where were you when I needed somebody to tell me 37 year old guys, skateboards and higher rates of speed don't mix.
That sucks WILL! We will miss you.... not! Jk of course we will! GET BETTER SOON! The work out sucked today! I got good practice on my handstand push ups though. I thought my arms and head were going to fall off!
Today was a good WOD for everyone that came in. I was very happy to see everyones skills with the handstands and L-pull-ups. Proud Papa, ha ha. Maybe someday soon I'll no longer be sick and I can WOD again. I made the mistake of giving in to peer pressure and let Nat talk me into doing the 100 burpee pull-ups the other day, extending my lame cold.
