Hey guys, the stereo was no problem. Seriously connecting the stereo for time was one of the best saturday WOD's I have ever completed:) Where was everybody last Saturday? With the new sound system I planned a workout called "Awesome 80's". You will have to ask Brooke or Rocky about it since they were the only ones who showed. I look forward to this Saturday's WOD maybe we'll get more than 2 people and can really rock out.

Will, since it's your birthday week perhaps you can bring the sound track. I'm anticipating something similar to the awesome 80's given your age and all. Happy B-Day

Awesome 80's??? Sweet! Jason and I would have "like totally" loved that. Let's do it again sometime Erick...but everybody has to dress 80's!!!!! I'm sure Will still has some gear from that era. :)

Thanks everybody for the birthday wishes. You're right Nat, you are only as old as you feel. I don't feel 38 and I probably act like I'm 18. :) So there's the answer to your question Tessa. How's it feel to get smoked on a regular basis by an old man. ;) Mandy- yeah I am kinda hot! :)
Pretty sure I don't have much old 80's gear laying around anymore. While I loved the 80's the only thing I have left is an old grey "Swatch" watch laying around somewhere and maybe an old jacket from my Breakdancin' days. That's a sad thing to even admit too!
Did todays WOD with 115# thrusters and toes to fingers. Time of 10:08. Thrusters damn near killed me. Nothing worse than not getting lock out overhead and having to do a rep over again. Had a few of those and they sucked! Like these short intense WODs. Every one of them has left me dying on the floor.

Okay here goes my book..... Because I want to whine.... Lately I have been adding anywhere from 5-10 GHD situps in my warm ups. But today I went down to do my first one. And felt this zipper feeling go right above my csection scar. I jumped off and about fell over from the pain. So I went and walked it off thinking I might have tweaked something. Well I decided to find a bar that I could do knees to elbows on. I went to do one and about died from the burning that took place there. So then stubborn me goes to see if I could still do a Thruster. NOT!! Got it over my head but with only one leg. When I went above head my left leg came up automatically to baby my gut. Waa!! Waa!! So Jason said no more! Waa!! I feel alright standing now but anything that requires the left side of abs KILLS!! So I am going to take Wills advice and take off until Monday. Then go in and just try to find something that will work. This kind of happened a few weeks ago just not as bad. I just babied it and it healed. So moral of my book..... if you have had a C-section make sure your ab muscles are good and strong before doing GHD. If not it feels like they are tearing from the inside. lol j/k maybe I am just wimpy. This will kill me to take time off. Like I said before I love Crossfit! I am hooked. I guess now I will know how Will felt. Waa!! Waa!! Okay I am done. :) Oh yeah, Phill, Kevin, and Melanie kicked butt on the WOD. I am so jelous because I really wanted to do it. Waa!! Okay I am done whining now. lol

Mandy- sorry to hear about your abs. GHD sit-ups are an advanced movement, there are not a lot of clients in our gym that do those. I'm not sure if your injury tonight was due to an old c-section scar or not. You've been doing CF for a while, so I'm surprised that happened. But always make sure a trainer is watching you when you start movements like that. I think any woman who has had kids need to be careful with GHD sit-ups because of the rectis diastatsis (ab muscles splitting apart) that happens during pregnancy. It really affects our abs and we have to go really slow with ab workouts. Especially if you just recently had a baby. Anyway- not sure what happened tonight. Do some gentle stretching this week. Squats might be ok. You can even ice it on and off for 48 hrs then heat.
Maybe you should talk to Tills...see how he healed his ab injury from soccer....:) Didn't he get a girdle or something? lol

Yeah I am not sure if it was from C-section. Its just in that general area. I have been doing the GHD for a little over 2 weeks now and they felt fine. They killed after the first time I did them but was able to continue. But this time I don't know what happened. Live and learn I guess. I have been sitting here with heat on them tonight. And they feel better. I am just not going to push it. I don't want to be out long. Actually funny you mentioned squats. I thought I could do them on my time off. I already tried some and besides legs being sore did not bother stomach. GHD will just have to wait a long long time before I will do them again. lol Girdle how sexy is that!! lol jk

Hey, we are missing some people at the gym. I haven't seen Brooke, Justin, Robbie or Rocky( hopefully I didn't miss anyone). Seriously you are like family so when you don't come we miss you.
