Tabata squats -bottom to bottom
Tabata push-ups

~All workouts are scaled to each individual's skill level~

Nice back squat Ori.

We know you all want to come to the gym to find out what a Tabata is. See you there!

Our 2 week Zone challenge will start Monday, October 5. We encourage everyone to get on board and give it a shot! This article makes it really easy to understand and get started. And we will help you all week with any questions you may have to get started. Give the Zone 2 weeks, to see what it can do for you. We are confident you will lean out and feel so much better once you are in "the zone". It is not as hard as you think. Most of the meals you already make can be turned into a Zone meal. The first 4-5 days may be a little rough as you detox off sugar and the refined carbs....but we promise it will be worth it! YOU CAN DO ANYTHING FOR 2 WEEKS! What do you have to lose? The trainer's will be doing this with you too. We want everyone to post how they are doing each day under comments so we can all be a support for each other. We are going to have a BBQ at the end of October for everyone who participates. Post in comments tonight if you are on board!

I'm on board! I have been doing the zone since July and it has really worked for me. I haven't been doing it totally strict so I'm excited to try and do it strict for the two weeks and get some good results.

I'm doing it! I've been eating Zonish- but not really getting the exact blocks I need. So I am ready to Zone strict for 2 weeks and get back in "the Zone" to feel better and perform better in the wods.
I know it is a big pain and seems so anal to weigh and measure your food, but you only need to do it for the first week or two so you can really see how much "3 or 4 oz of meat" is. Then you can eyeball it and it gets much easier. Wal-mart has a pretty good cheap scale you can buy. It's worth it!
Who else is in?????

My first CrossFit workout was a tabata workout. It definitely was a little bit of something else. My legs still hurt thinking about it.

Dave- Did you do "Tabata something else?" That is actually the name of one. There is also "Tabata This" and "Tabata you gotta be kidding me." :)

Tabata bottom to bottom means that you rest at the bottom. so after 20 seconds work you go into a squat and hold it for 10 seconds. You are going to do this 8 times. After you are done with that you will do Tabata push-ups.

It should be fun. Make sure you warm up really good because the WOD is going to be short. That means work on your pull-ups. We want everyone to do pull-ups next month.

I did a modified version of Tabata something else. There wasn't a pull up bar around, so we didn't do those. I had been doing squats and cardio at the local gym, but that didn't do anything to prepare me for the pain I felt after a simple Tabata workout. It was a definite eye opener as to what you can do sans weight and a very short workout time.
I cry at nights sometimes remembering it.

I am in on the zone diet. I always enjoy a good barbeque and I am ready to start a good eating plan. Erick will be doing it as well he just doesn't know it yet. He eats what I cook so how lucky is he.

I am so excited that so many of you are ready to ZONE next week! It's going to be fun to do it all together and support one another.

Ok...today was a first for me doing b2b Tabata squats...YIkes. It hurt so good though, I really liked it. Tabata's are great...a little painful... such a hard amount of work in such a little amount of time...Love it. And everyone this am did great too. It was so funny to see everyone's face when they were at rest at the bottom of the squat. hehe.

That work out hurt like *bleep* I was surprised how high the suck factor was on that one, good thing it was short. I'm 100% Zone today :)

I loved the work out, but hated the rest on the squats. My thighs have never burnt that bad. What scares me is if they hurt this bad now. How bad is it going to be tomorrow? eeeek I wear heels for a living. lol I told Will when he does PT at the college with the guys he needs to have them do this one. hee hee And Natalie In my rest I am sure I was throwing some crazy faces. Not including almost falling on my face. ha ha ha The night crew did excellent. Gotta love Crossfit!

Great job night crew...I hope Jason got some pictures of ya'll. Were you all making noises too (of agony)at the bottom of your squat? Mandy you crack me up!
Kevin...I think we will all deserve some yummy cookies at the end of 2 weeks!!!!

I think Phils agony was the loudest! hee hee

Who was the idiot that came up with that WOD. Oh, yea it was me. Ok, so I did the WOD after everyone left tonight which was difficult because I had to write everything on the board. So I had to do all my squats next to the board under the pull-up bars. While in bottom of the squat in the rest position I was writing down my totals. That sucked!

I do have to say it was a different type of pain tonight and I think it was a great way to change things up and do something that we are not used to. We love TABATA!
